Prerequisite: one statistics course or instructor consent


  Course Description :
  Application of basic family research methods into experiential learning using statistical software. Analyses that correspond with problem situations in 5014 and that involve secondary data analyses. Using statistical software for basic family research. Preparation to work with quantitative family data sets.
  Course Objectives / Goals:
 
  1. Understand the application of statistical methods to the study of families and relationships as taught in FSoS 4014
  2. Develop skills neccessary to analyze data by utilizing both the point-and-click method and the syntax method
  3. Develop collaborative quantitative research skills
  4. Develop skills in reading and interpreting SPSS output, in order to make one's data useful
  Workload:
  3 hours per week
