  Course Description :
 

Distinguishing family policy research from other family research. Conceptual frameworks, methods, and roles family policy research can play in policy-making and knowledge-building systems.

  Course Objectives / Goals:
 
  1. To develop research skills applicable to the unique characteristics of family policy research.

  2. To develop an understanding of the process involved in developing a family policy research proposal.

  3. To develop an appreciation for the complexities of the family public policy process in the U.S. and in other nations.

  Workload:
 

At least 9 hours per week, including class time

  Required Readings :
 

Readings assigned throughout the semester.
