FSoS 8275, Clinical Consultation with Couples and Families

Prerequisite: Consent of instructor; required for FSoS grad students in MFT program
Course Description :
Supervised students serve as a consultation group working with community clinicians and their clients, utilizing a one-way window and observation room; opportunities for cotherapy.
Course Objectives / Goals:
To assist students in integrating theoretical concepts and practical techniques for working with couples and families;
To enable students to become directly familiar with different models of therapy applicable to couples and families;
To guide students in developing and clarifying their own therapeutic styles;
To acquaint students with models of consultation with family members.
