FSoS 8275, Clinical Consultation with Couples and Families

Prerequisite: Consent of instructor; required for FSoS grad students in MFT program


  Course Description :
 

Supervised students serve as a consultation group working with community clinicians and their clients, utilizing a one-way window and observation room; opportunities for cotherapy.

  Course Objectives / Goals:
 
  1. To assist students in integrating theoretical concepts and practical techniques for working with couples and families;

  2. To enable students to become directly familiar with different models of therapy applicable to couples and families;

  3. To guide students in developing and clarifying their own therapeutic styles;

  4. To acquaint students with models of consultation with family members.

  Workload:
 

At least 9 hours per week, including class time
