National Conclave for Phi Upsilon Omicron National Honor Society September 25-28, 2008 Embassy Suites Minneapolis Airport Minneapolis, Minnesota
The National Conclave for Phi Upsilon Omicron National Honor Society was founded by the University of Minnesota in 1909; Family Social Science was the Alpha Chapter. We are busy planning this national event and some of our faculty, including Pauline Boss, will present. Jan Hogan is one of the co-chairs of the overall planning committee.
Phi U is an honor society whose members are from three UM colleges - CE&HD, CFANS, and CDes. The current collegiate chapter president, vice-president and initiation co-chairs are Family Social Science undergraduate and graduate students. Numerous alumni from Family Social Science and the former College of Human Ecology are involved in the alumni chapter. Catherine Solheim serves as one of the collegiate advisers. Two Family Social Science graduate students received scholarships from the alumni chapter this year.
