Welcome to the Family Caregiving Center

Supporting Family Centered Care of Dementia

The Family Caregiving Center is dedicated to improving dementia care by supporting family centered care. We are facing an epidemic of dementia – the current prevalence of 6 million swelling to 15 million in the coming decades. To meet this exploding demand, we will rely on families caring for elders. Our mission is to support family life through the entire course of the illness – keeping families strong and connected. We dedicate efforts towards research, project innovation, training and outreach to increase our understanding of how to support family centered care.

What You'll Find in This Website

We've gathered the results of almost 20 years of work in family centered dementia care in one place. You'll find descriptions of innovations in services for families, educational materials on dementia care and family life, results of our ongoing research initiatives and developments in theory and conceptualization. You'll also find opportunities to help us in this work. The Family Caregiving Center lives off the donations of time, effort and funds from a committed community dedicated to improving life for persons with dementia and their families. By joining this community, you can help our work thrive!
