Scholarship is broadly defined as knowledge and the academic pursuits of scholars. In the Department of Family Social Science, scholarship focuses on knowlege in the following four areas:
family economic well-being,
families and mental health,
family diversity, and
relationships and development across the lifespan.
In the Department of Family Social Science, rigorous research, teaching, and learning is the expected standard. Academic opportunities such as honors programs, learning abroad programs and Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) allow for this aspect of scholarship.
