Faten is a doctoral student in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at the University of Minnesota. She received her B.A. in Educational Counseling and Social Sciences in 1992 at Haifa University, Israel. In addition, she received an M.S. in Educational Psychology at Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts and a Post-M.A. in Family Psychology at University of St. Thomas Graduate School of Professional Psychology. Her experiences range from providing cross-cultural family therapy with diverse individuals, couples and families to conducting research and teaching. Her areas of interest include cross culture therapy, culturally sensitive and effective clinical interventions, trauma, grief, and families dealing with chronic illness. She has been active with the Center since 2003.
