The Family Journey

Dementia is not a single event in family life that must be faced. Rather, it is a series of events that unfolds over years confronting families with new challenges along the way. The Family Journey model provides a map for understanding this process. In this training series, you will learn about the seven phases families transverse through the illness journey. Each phase outlines the major challenges families face along with tested and proven guidelines for action to guide families through the dilemmas of care. Following each section, we provide a place online for giving and receiving feedback on your particular situation and the opportunity to communicate with others facing similar challenges.
